Oct. 9, 2018
Birmingham, Alabama (Oct. 9, 2018) -- After working four years with a large Birmingham law firm, Ashley Rhea is pleased to announce that she has opened Rhea Law Firm, LLC. Ashley’s goal is to work directly with people with disabilities in order to make a difference in their lives and to ensure that they are not being discriminated against when it comes to basic rights and services.
“Being disabled myself, I know what it’s like to have to fight for the basic rights to live everyday life,” said Ashley Rhea, founder, Rhea Law, LLC. “I want to help people with disabilities so that they understand what their rights are under the law.”
Ashley was born with disabilities and she has fought throughout her life to live and work just like people without disabilities. She worked with public schools and universities to attend classes which resulted in her graduating with honors from Birmingham Southern College and going on to receive her Juris Doctorate degree from Samford’s Cumberland School of Law. While in law school, she had the opportunity to intern with area law firms as well as with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC).
Ashley is licensed to practice law in Alabama and is a member of the Junior League of Birmingham, Rotaract Club of Birmingham (former Director of Club Service), National Employment Lawyers Association (NELA) and the Council of Parent Attorneys and Advocates. She volunteers for the YWCA of Birmingham and Childcare Resources.
